Today my newly rediscovered friend Mary came over to “drop off some cake”

she showed up with:
organic oranges and cumquats from her yard
grilled vegetables from Thursday
Mushroom risotto
vegan stuffing
tomato mozzarella salad with fresh basil
cheesecake (that she made)
raspberries and ganache (that she MADE!) for the cheesecake
rum cake (yes. homemade)
flourless chocolate cake (this too)

I made mashed potatoes (instant! but with added cream cheese!) and we ate belated Thanksgiving dinner, just the four of us, by candlelight.
I haven’t even been able to eat dessert yet, but I have a plan for a late night dessert feast.
